A 10-state coalition is suing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to thwart its new rule requiring companies to report greenhouse gas emissions.

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on March 6 approved a rule that will require some public companies to report their greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks.

The U.S. Department of Transportation on Nov. 22 announced a tight deadline imposed in a final rule by the Federal Highway Administration for states to establish emission-reduction goals.
