Truckers now can pull into one of 220 truck stops and get in-cab access to the Internet thanks to a new service offered by PNV.net. The company - formerly Park N View - offers Internet service as part of a plan to become a comprehensive connectivity and information provider, said its CEO Robert May.

Air Dryer Said to Prevent Brake Line Damage

Damage caused by clogged air brake valves could be prevented using a product designed to flush contaminants and water from trailer air lines, according to AlliedSignal officials. The company hopes to have the Bendix trailer system-guard air dryer on the market in October.

Overnite Terminal Workers On Strike

Dockworkers and truck drivers at six Overnite Transportation terminals went on strike Monday, according to the Teamsters union. About 1,400 union workers walked off their jobs at three terminals in the Atlanta area and one each in Memphis, Tenn.; Kansas City, Mo., and Indianapolis.

NS Rail Delays Ease Slightly

Congestion problems that have troubled Norfolk Southern since it took over part of Conrail a month ago seem to be easing, but customers continue to report inadequate service on the Virginia-based rail line. United Parcel Service complains of delays ranging from 2 to 10 hours.
