Trucking Leaders to Unite in San Diego for ATA’s MCE 2025
Industry Conference Focuses on Policy, Innovation and Workforce Growth

is bringing the industry together to welcome new opportunities and tackle challenges as part of its in San Diego.
MCE will offer industry stakeholders various meetings, educational sessions and special speakers, with the exhibit hall serving as the star attraction.
The theme for this year reflects this determined resolve: “A United Front: Driving Policy in a New Era.” The conference will be held at the San Diego Convention Center Oct. 25-28.
“Over the past year, the ATA federation has racked up a long list of wins, such as restoring common-sense emissions regulations, securing pro-trucking tax provisions in the Big Beautiful Bill, advancing tort reform and developing policies that will help grow a safe and qualified workforce,” ATA President Chris Spear said. “Trucking’s ability to achieve impressive victories like these is directly correlated with the strength of our collective advocacy.”

Spear will make his annual state of the industry address Oct. 27. ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello will hold a session earlier that day to discuss freight trends. The trucking industry has faced many obstacles this year, including an ongoing freight downturn worsened by tariffs, but these challenges have created opportunities to adapt and innovate.
“MCE in San Diego aims to forge even stronger ties, allowing our members to discuss opportunities and challenges facing our industry and consult top experts as we seek to find solutions,” Spear said. “From fighting trial lawyers, to drafting the highway reauthorization bill, to cracking down on cargo theft, there is a lot at stake and a lot to discuss.

“On top of a jam-packed MCE agenda of committee meetings, education sessions and other networking opportunities, we will be strategizing on how we can drive policy together and position our industry for success.”
The education sessions will focus on topics including cybersecurity, the high cost of litigation and fuel savings. Artificial intelligence features prominently throughout much of the schedule, reflecting its growing importance in transportation and logistics. Press conferences from truck makers and technology companies also will be interspersed throughout trucking’s premier showcase.

“MCE is a can’t-miss event for every professional engaged in the trucking industry,” ATA Chairman Dennis Dellinger said when registrations opened May 15. “The insightful updates from experts at policy sessions, the illuminating conversations that take place at the networking events and the innovations showcased on the exhibit floor offer unparalleled opportunities for careers and businesses to advance. The depth of the content and breadth of the subjects covered set the standard for trucking industry conferences.”

The on Oct. 26 will unveil its annual overview of the top industry issues. ATRI President Rebecca Brewster and a panel of industry stakeholders will discuss these challenges and possible solutions. This year’s session will adopt a happy hour theme, adding a social element to the discussion.
MCE has a tradition of recognizing exceptional people throughout the industry, and this year will be no different. The award presentations throughout the conference will include a graduation ceremony for LEAD ATA and a presentation for Trucking’s Frontline Heroes. LEAD participants have luncheons and meetings throughout the week as part of the development program, which prepares those pursuing leadership roles in the industry.
