California Gov. Gavin Newsom is promising to step in with a state electric-car tax credit if President-elect Donald Trump repeals a federal subsidy after he takes office next year.

Under terms of the grant program, FRA will pay no more than 80% of a project’s cost, with a minimum 20% match that can include in-kind contributions.
