MILAN — Stellantis said Oct. 31 that the autoworkers strike in North America is expected to cost the company around 750 million euros ($795 million) in profits — less than its competitors.

DETROIT — The UAW union has widened its strike against GM, the lone holdout among the three Detroit automakers, after reaching a tentative contract agreement with Jeep maker Stellantis.

The United Auto Workers union has once again escalated its strikes against big Detroit automakers, this time adding a factory that makes Ram pickup trucks for Stellantis.

Stellantis NV on Oct. 18 laid out its offensive in the commercial vehicle market, committing to launching four electrified pickup trucks in North America over the next two years.

The Canadian auto workers union has declared 11:59 p.m. Oct. 29 as the strike deadline to obtain a tentative agreement with the maker of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram.

DETROIT — Automakers posted big increases in new vehicle sales during the summer, despite high prices, rising interest rates and even a limited strike against Detroit companies.

General Motors, Ford and Stellantis face a combined $10.5 billion in fines from 2027 to 2032 under stricter proposed average fuel economy rules, according to an estimate from their trade group.

Stellantis gave the the United Auto Workers a new contract proposal as General Motors and Stellantis announced fresh layoffs Sept. 20 that they blamed on damage from the strike.
