Maintenance parts and labor expenses for trucking companies across North America rose more than 8% year-over-year in the first quarter of 2023, according to a recently released study.

Tenneco Inc. agreed to be acquired by affiliates of Apollo Global Management Inc., taking the auto parts supplier out of the public market after years of share declines and business upheaval.

A growing economy and strong new truck sales have increased demand for aftermarket parts, creating supply chal­lenges. Truck manufacturers and component ­suppliers said they’re working to alleviate pressure on the industry by expanding offerings, ­improving distribution channels and using predictive forecasting tools to get ahead of demand.
