Losses at truck maker Nikola more than halved year on year in the third quarter as a result of record sales, cost cutting and the absence of expenses incurred in the year-ago period.

EPA is paying $248.9 million to develop 24 electric truck charging sites for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles along the Interstate 95 freight corridor in four East Coast states.

Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes this year will be about $10 billion, down from a previous outlook for as much as $12 billion, the company said Oct. 28.
