Knight-Swift Transportation Holdings Inc. extended its winning streak in auctions of former Yellow Corp. terminals, strengthening its less-than-truckload operations.

The auction of Yellow's assets is continuing as sales of the bankrupt carrier's terminals are funding debt repayments. 

Yellow repaid a $700 million loan it received from the Treasury Department through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, the bankrupt less-than-truckload carrier said.

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware approved the sale of 23 terminal leases owned by Yellow Corp. to six bidders for an aggregate price of $82.89 million, documents show.

A Delaware court approved the sale of 128 freight terminals owned by bankrupt less-than-truckload carrier Yellow Corp., according to an audio recording of a Dec. 12 hearing.

Less-than-truckload carrier XPO Inc. has agreed to pay $870 million for 26 owned terminals and two leased properties that previously were operated by Yellow Corp., emerging as a top bidder in the managed sale of the bankrupt LTL carrier’s assets, court documents show.  

Next Century Logistics submitted a second bid for Yellow Corp. assets Dec. 7 after an initial offer to reanimate the bankrupt carrier was turned down by the administrators of Yellow’s assets.

Jack Cooper Transport is reportedly making a nearly $2 billion bid to snatch up the assets of Yellow, the trucking firm that collapsed in late July and filed for bankruptcy.

A court on Oct. 27 approved plans by the administrators of Yellow to use auctioneers to sell the company’s rolling stock, as Jack Cooper Transport eyes a bid to rescue the motor carrier.
