Bennett Clarke Whitlock Jr., who helped steer the trucking industry through deregulation in the late 1970s and early 1980s, has died. He was 97.

Heber Lynn Andrus, a past chairman of the Idaho Trucking Association and former owner of Idaho-based Doug Andrus Distributing, died June 11 at age 75.

TOKYO — Osamu Suzuki, the charismatic former boss of Suzuki Motor Corp. who helped turn the Japanese mini-vehicle maker into a globally competitive company, has died at 94.

David Payne Cox, co-owner of Cox Trucking, died April 3 after a 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 67.

Former Alabama Trucking Association chairman and state industry leader E.H. “Buddy” Moore Jr. died July 25.

Professional truck driver William John Lex, a longtime driver for Walmart Transportation and an America’s Road Team Captain for American Trucking Associations, died Jan. 10 after a bout with colon cancer. He was 56.
