Navistar Inc. said Feb. 15 it has signed a contract to make 15 of its new HX Series heavy-duty International trucks for RLJ Thompson Trucking of Concord, Virginia.

With the debut of its HX series, International Truck has launched a new Class 8 truck for the first time since 2010, intending, it said, to regain its lead in the vocational market’s severe-service segment.

Correction: International Truck introduced four Class 8 vocational trucks as part of its new HX Series to replace its PayStar models. An earlier version of this story had an incorrect reference to the model being replaced. 

Navistar International Corp. reported lower net losses for its fourth quarter and the 2015 fiscal year ended Oct. 31 and forecast it would improve on those trends and turn cash flow positive and profitable in 2016.

Navistar International Corp. said it has put in place a program to ensure customers receive faster repair service at its dealerships that have met certain efficiency standards required in its new Diamond Edge Certified Program, which has been in development for several months.

Navistar International Corp. and General Motors Co. have reached a long-term agreement to develop and manufacture Classes 4-5 medium-duty conventional trucks with a goal of starting sales in 2018.

Navistar Defense, a unit of truck maker Navistar International Corp., said it won a $369-million contract from the U.S. Army Contracting Command  to build 2,293 medium tactical vehicles for the Afghanistan National Security Force.

Truck maker Navistar International Corp. posted a fiscal third-quarter loss of $28 million, or 34 cents a share, on revenue that declined to $2.54 billion, with one-time charges last year and currently contributing to the relative downturn.
