The value of commodities moved by truck among the United States, Canada and Mexico increased 1.3% to $59.3 billion in May, the Department of Transportation announced.

The total value of U.S. cross-border freight with Canada and Mexico in March fell 5.8% to $90.5 billion from March 2015, while the value of commodities moving by truck declined 1.1%, the smallest decrease of any mode.

The value of U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico carried by truck declined by 1.5% in January compared with a month earlier, and was the smallest decline among all modes, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported March 24.

The value of U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico in November decreased by 8.4% year-over-year to $88.2 billion, and truck freight value slipped by 0.4%, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.

The value of U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico carried by truck declined for the second consecutive month, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported Oct. 29.

The value of U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico declined 8% in July as the freight value carried by trucks also decreased, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported Sept. 29.

Trucking was the only mode that saw a rise in the value of U.S.-Nafta freight carried in June compared with the year earlier, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported Aug. 27.

U.S. trade with Canada and Mexico declined 10.8% in May and freight carried by trucks also declined, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported July 30.
