It increases the carbon emissions produced by your fleet, quietly consumes your fuel and personnel budgets, reduces operational efficiencies, and creates bottlenecks along your drivers’ routes. According to SmartWay, a partner of the US EPA, if each driver in a 25-truck fleet idled for only two hours, that fleet would burn 40 gallons of diesel each day, at a cost of over $46,000/year. 

Renewable energy provider eNow announced a strategic partnership with IdleAir, whose grid-powered approach to provide longhaul truck drivers an alternative to idling their engines during rest periods will now be enhanced by eNow’s solar panels.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Truck stop electrification and air conditioning provider IdleAir announced it is opening three new U.S. locations, that it has formed partnerships with other trucking vendors and electric utilities, and that it is implementing new price offerings.

IdleAIR, which provides anti-idling equipment at truck stops, has changed its name from IdleAire and opened 16 U.S. locations since reorganizing under a third owner.

IdleAire Inc. said that it will reopen its idle-reduction facilities at 23 truck stops after ceasing operations in January.
