The signs are down, but the issue of truck traffic in Delaware along the Route 41, Route 48 and Route 7 corridors remains a concern for area legislators.

In order to police trucks that are trying to bypass weigh-in inspection stations, the Delaware Department of Transportation announced the installation of a virtual weigh station along State Route 1 near the central part of the state.

A new state budget approved by Democratic Delaware Gov. Jack Markell earlier this month will sweeten the state’s transportation trust fund beginning in fiscal year 2016 but also will increase several fees for trucks.
