Long Hauls and Blood Clots

Dubbed “economy class syndrome” because of its reported occurrence among airline passengers immobilized on long flights, the condition is potentially fatal. In fact, British Airways and two airlines in Australia routinely warn passengers about the danger of developing blood clots from sitting too long and not moving around on long flights.For the full story, see the April 9 print edition of Transport Topics. .
