LAS VEGAS — Suppliers of a variety of products and services for the aftermarket announced developments here during Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week.

Refrigerated truckload carrier Stevens Transport is buying 1,600 new tractors and trailers for 2019 at a cost of $165 million, according to a statement released by the Dallas-based company Jan. 29.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency plans to tailor its new glider truck emissions standard to help protect the glider industry from “going out of business or substantially reducing its economic growth potential,” agency chief Andrew Wheeler said in a document sent to Congress.

Power management company Eaton Corp. reported increased revenue for the fourth quarter and full-year periods, while net income declined in both.

Transportation industry groups are criticizing a plan by some ocean carriers to begin seeking new administrative fees for cargo containers, known as “street turns.” The fees are set to take effect Feb. 4 and range from $30 to $75, depending on the carrier.

Trailer maker Wabash National Corp. reported revenue increased in the fourth quarter and set an all-time record for the full year, annual shipments were at near-record volumes, but net income dropped in both periods.
