The Greenwich, Conn.-based less-than-truckload carrier posted net income of $106 million, or 89 cents a diluted share, for the three months ending June 30.

The company is seeking to broaden its range of low-cost offerings through the program, said people familiar with the matter, who asked not to be named because the test hasn’t been announced.
