TIMONIUM, Md. — YRC Freight truck driver Kurt Royer has competed in the Maryland Truck Driving Championships nine times since 1999. And although he’s gone on to nationals four times, he’s never gone as Maryland’s Grand Champion. But at this year’s event he was named Grand Champion after earning the highest overall score.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is now accepting applications for a pilot program that would allow people between the ages of 18 and 20 who possess the U.S. military equivalent of a commercial driver license to operate trucks in interstate commerce.

Safety, style and family will be on display at the Indiana Truck Driving Championships, held June 7-8 at Lincoln College of Technology in Indianapolis.

Chris Morrison of Hogan Transports won the Sleeper Berth competition to clinch the Grand Champion title at the Missouri Truck Driving Championships on May 31-June 1 in Branson.

The second time was the charm for Brook Figgins of FedEx Freight, who won Sleeper Berth for the second year in a row and was named Grand Champion at the 2019 Colorado Truck Driving Championships on June 1 in Henderson.

The Florida Trucking Association will host what it is billing as the largest Truck Driving Championships in its history June 6-8 in Daytona Beach.
