DETROIT — The U.S. government’s highway safety agency is sending a team to Detroit to investigate a crash involving a Tesla that drove beneath a semitrailer.

Tesla Inc. said Jerome Guillen, who’s been president of automotive since September 2018, transitioned last week to president of Tesla heavy trucking.

Tesla Inc. shares fell a day after firefighters responded to an incident at the company’s factory in Fremont, Calif., containing a blaze in an area of the property under construction.
