Third-party logistics company and freight broker Hub Group said late Thursday its first-quarter profit rose 25% to $11.4 million or 29 cents a share, from $9.1 million or 22 cents a share a year ago.

Truckload carrier USA Truck said Thursday its first-quarter profit plunged to $800,000 or 1 cent per share, from $3.4 million or 30 cents a year earlier, on softer freight demand.

Air freight and cargo company Kitty Hawk Inc. said Tuesday it earned $8.3 million or 15 cents a share in the fourth quarter, compared with a loss of $4.1 million or 8 cents a year earlier.

Third-party logistics provider Hub Group said late Monday it earned $13.5 million or 34 cents a share in the fourth quarter, up from $10.1 million or 25 cents a share for the same quarter a year earlier.

Specialty truck maker Oshkosh Truck Corp.’s fiscal first-quarter profit fell to $41.2 million or 55 cents a share, from $53.1 million or 72 cents a year earlier, the company said Friday.

Components maker ArvinMeritor Inc. said its fiscal first-quarter earnings fell to $7 million or 10 cents a share, from $34 million or 49 cents a year earlier, as it said it faced challenges from the automotive, light-duty and heavy-duty truck segments.

Truckload carrier J.B. Hunt Transport Services said Monday it earned $57.8 million or 39 cents a share in the fourth quarter, a decline from $65.3 million or 41 cents a year ago.

Truckload carrier Heartland Express said its fourth-quarter profit fell to $19.6 million or 20 cents a share, from $21.6 million or 22 cents a year earlier.
