As national average gasoline pump prices climb to near $3 a gallon for the first time since late 2014, the President Donald Trump made it known that he won’t stand for OPEC’s cartel tricks. Bad news, Mr. President: Diesel prices are there.

The U.S. average retail price of diesel rose 0.1 cent to $3.043 as oil remained near $63 a barrel amid ongoing uncertainty over a U.S. trade war with China.

The U.S. average retail price of diesel rose 3.8 cents to $3.010 as the potential for conflict in the Middle East rose, lifting the price of crude above $65. It was the first increase in the average price of diesel after six consecutive declines that saw the price per gallon drop by 11.4 cents since Feb. 5.

The U.S. average retail price of diesel fell 0.4 cent to $2.972 as energy production in the U.S. remained strong and the price of crude oil stalled near $62 a barrel.

The U.S. retail diesel average declined 3.6 cents to $3.027 a gallon, the Department of Energy reported Feb. 20.
