Inspectors in Canada, Mexico and the U.S. conducted 4,898 commercial motor vehicle inspections in a brake safety event April 30, putting 570 vehicles out of service for critical violations.

Safety experts and regulators have for years been alerting truck drivers about the dangers of not wearing seat belts, and the results have been tragic for those who did not heed the warnings.
