The Cincinnati region is growing in stature as a leading transportation and logistics hub. According to BE NKY, between 2015 and 2020, the transportation and logistics sector was responsible for more than 85% of all jobs created in the region. This is projected to grow 28% through 2025.

ORLANDO, Fla. — Third-party logistics providers remain poised for long-term success after helping shippers navigate supply chain turmoil wrought by the pandemic,  industry leaders said.

Freight brokerage, warehousing and dedicated carriage operations saw significant growth in 2022, while rocky international freight demand kept forwarders on the ropes.

Third-party logistics providers enjoyed another growth year in 2022, driven by inventory buildup from past supply chain disruptions and decreasing purchased transportation costs.

The largest third-party logistics companies in North America remained in growth mode in 2022 despite an uncertain economic environment and less favorable market conditions.

Third-party logistics providers have been adjusting to normalizing market conditions as supply chain disruptions, inventory shortages and surging demand have receded.

The shipper community continues to increase its use of third-party logistics providers in the aftermath of the pandemic and major technological changes.

While the worst of the global supply chain snarls brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic now appear to be in the rearview mirror, it’s still not business as usual for international freight.

SAN DIEGO — Closer collaboration and a willingness to find different ways to move freight are among the ways that third-party logistics providers have been navigating the supply chain disruptions, delays and scarce capacity that have characterized the past two years.

As the 3PL industry continues to grow, so, too, does Transport Topics' annual ranking of the largest logistics companies in North America, this year expanding from 50 to 100 companies.
