Young Says Congress Is Unlikely to Restrict Driver Cell Phone Use

The lack of reliable data about the extent to which cell phone use causes accidents is making members of Congress reluctant to pursue a federal law limiting cell phone use, they said.
“Like many Americans, I am aggravated by the drivers too involved with a telephone conversation to operate their vehicle safely,” said House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman Don Young (R-Alaska) on May 9.
