Yellow Reinstates Fuel Surcharge

Yellow Freight suspended its fuel surcharge program in January 1998, when average diesel fuel prices fell below $1.10 a gallon.
Diesel fuel prices have risen 5.2% during the past six weeks, hitting $1.11 a gallon on July 12, according to a Department of Energy survey of 350 diesel service centers. That compares with an average of $1.06 a gallon on June 7.
