Y2K Debate: Was It Worth the Cost?

| Staff ReporterWith no significant communications or electronics-related difficulties to report, most trucking companies greeted the new century free of the Y2K hangover anticipated by some during the 2000 rollover.
But days after making the feared crossover, recuperation has turned to contemplation. Government officials, computer experts and businesses are now left to debate whether the $100 billion heaped into correcting possible Y2K defects was money well spent.
