SAN DIEGO — Volvo Trucks North America will continue its sponsorship of American Trucking Associations’ America’s Road Team for 2026, the company said Oct. 26.
The truck maker has sponsored America’s Road Team since 2002.
America’s Road Team advances highway safety, elevates the image of the trucking industry and seeks to inspire future generations of professional drivers.
Members of the Road Team — known as captains — are selected for their exemplary safety records and commitment to the industry. Each serves for two years.
“America’s Road Team captains play an essential role in advancing safety and professionalism across the industry,” VTNA President Peter Voorhoeve said. “Through their ongoing work in communities, classrooms and legislative halls, they help bridge understanding between truck drivers and the communities they serve, inspiring respect for the work that keeps our economy moving.”
Road Team captains attend a wide range of events including visits to the White House, state capitals, motorcycle rallies, career fairs, schools and educational conferences.
VTNA equips America’s Road Team with a VNL 860 to transport the ATA Interstate One mobile classroom to events.
The VNL 860 is the top-of-the-line sleeper configuration for VTNA’s flagship over-the-road model, which was relaunched in January 2024.
VTNA announced the renewal of the sponsorship at ATA’s 2025 Management Conference & Exhibition.
