UPS Rolls Out 300 CNG Trucks
UPS Inc. said it has put more than 300 compressed natural gas-powered delivery trucks into service in seven cities across the country.
Deployment of the trucks completes the purchase the Atlanta-based package delivery firm announced last May.
The trucks have been put on the road in Atlanta, Denver and Oklahoma City, as well as four cities in California: Los Angeles, Ontario, Sacramento and San Ramon, UPS said.
Robert Hall, director of engineering for UPS said CNG was “a sustainable choice because natural gas is a cost-effective, clean-burning and readily available fuel.”
UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
