Software Could Speed Freight Refunds

| Staff ReporterBut a new software product marketed by SJ Consulting Group in Pittsburgh could drastically increase the amount of money carriers will have to return to shippers for late deliveries.

The product is due on the market in early November, and SJ Consulting says frequent shippers could recover “hundreds of thousands of dollars in shipping costs each year.” The software will match service commitments with publicly available tracking information from carriers’ Web sites and sift through delivery records to find packages for which the service commitment was not met.
