Qualcomm Adding Hours Tracker to Mobile Comm. System
ualcomm Inc. said Monday that it will have a new hours-of-service tracking device ready to add to its OmniTracs mobile communications systems starting this summer.
The new application will make use of an electronic on-board recorder embedded in the OmniTracs system will comply with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations governing of EOBRs, Qualcomm said in a statement.
“Beyond DOT compliance, we wanted [the] application to provide functions that significantly increase the productivity and efficiency of drivers, dispatchers and load planners,” said Joan Waltman, the new president of Qualcomm’s wireless business solutions division.
