Products to Cut Drag Show Fuel Savings in Tests

| Staff Reporterhe National Research Council of Canada said recent wind-tunnel tests showed that some aerodynamic products can help heavy-duty trucks save between two and three gallons of fuel per 100 miles by reducing drag.
NRC said it tested six products at its laboratories in Ottawa, ranging from trailer skirts to gap-closure products.
“If we can get truck drivers to use these products, we might be able to show them that they can help them to save fuel,” said Kevin Cooper, principal research officer for NRC’s wind tunnel testing program.
