President Obama said Monday his administration would deliver more than 600,000 jobs through its $787 billion stimulus plan this summer, the Associated Press reported.

Many of the stimulus plans announced were already in process, including about 1,600 state road and airport improvements, and federal agencies will release billions of stimulus dollars to states in the coming months, AP said.

The president wants an accelerated pace of federal spending over the next few months to boost the economy and produce jobs, AP reported.
