Logistics has grown in importance because companies have found that by designing their logistics network properly, they can gain a competitive advantage, according to Sur. “Logistics has been receiving a lot of attention because shippers and carriers have understood that they can make progress by reducing waste, cutting cost and improving service,” he said.
