Honda Launches Long-Awaited Electric Van Starting at $15,550
Vehicle Will Be Aimed at Delivery Companies and Construction Industries as Well as People Who Want Extra Storage Space

Honda Motor Co. will launch its long-awaited electric van in October, starting at $15,550, pushing into the commercial market as part of its drive to have EVs and fuel cell vehicles account for 40% of global sales by the end of the decade.
The new N-VAN e: will come in four variants, seating from one to four people, the Japanese automaker said at a launch event June 13. The vehicle will be aimed at delivery companies and construction industries as well as people who want extra storage space. The van can be charged in 4½ hours at a normal charging speed of 6 kilowatts and in 30 minutes with fast charging.
Honda is determined to pursue electrification despite a slowdown in global EV demand, with some of world’s largest manufacturers — including Ford Motor Co., General Motors Co., Volkswagen AG and even Tesla Inc. — dialing back ambitions in recent months.

The N-VAN e: “will be available at affordable prices for normal people,” said Noriyuki Takakura, Honda’s vice president of Japan operations.
“While we are witnessing a change in global EV trends, there are countries like Thailand where EVs are selling well,” he said. “There is no change in Honda’s stance” to achieve carbon neutrality, he added.
