Hino’s Outlook Rises on Asian, Latin America Sales
Hino Motors Ltd., Japan’s largest maker of heavy-duty trucks, said its operating profit probably beat its own forecast by 4.5% because of higher international sales in Asia and Latin America, Bloomberg reported Tuesday.
The company’s operating profit will total about $458 million for the fiscal year ending March 31, compared with a previous forecast of $440 million, Hino said in a statement, Bloomberg reported.
Operating profit will increase by 25%, and Hino reiterated its net income will be about $220 million, Bloomberg said.
Booming construction in Southeast Asia and Latin America are increasing demand for Hino’s trucks and helping counter a drop in U.S. sales, Bloomberg reported.
