Gasoline Average Drops to $2.24 a Gallon, Lundberg Says

he average retail price of regular gasoline fell 4.46 cents between April 8 and Friday to $2.24 a gallon, according to the latest Lundberg Survey of filling stations nationwide.

Survey editor Trilby Lundberg said gasoline prices have been catching up to crude oil, which had dropped the first two weeks of April before climbing again last week, Bloomberg reported.

The Lundberg Survey reported the highest price for regular gasoline was $2.64 a gallon in San Francisco. The lowest was $2.04, in Tulsa, Okla.

The Department of Energy’s last weekly survey April 18 showed gasoline dropped 4.3 cents to $2.237 a gallon. DOE’s next survey is due out Monday afternoon.
