The change reflects an expansion of focus "to enable a global customer experience," the company said. "Transitioning to DHL Supply Chain is part of our evolution to better serve our customers with a simplified and seamless logistics solution." It added that the new name "allows us to operate as a consistent brand in all customer markets."
Exel, a subsidiary of Germany's Deutsche Post DHL, had 47,000 employees and an estimated $1.8 billion in net revenue in North America in 2014. Among its services are warehousing and distribution, transportation management, supply chain consulting and order fulfillment.
