Eaton Appoints João Faria President of Vehicle Group

Power management company Eaton Corp. hasappointedJoão Faria president of its Vehicle Group, effective May 1. He succeeds Kenneth Davis, who has announced he will retire Aug. 1.
Davis has served as Vehicle Group president since 2011, the company said.

In 2016, Eaton had sales of $19.7 billion.
Faria will be responsible for the company’s vehicle business, which manufactures engine air management, traction control, fluid conveyance and powertrain products for passenger and commercial vehicles,according to Eaton.He joined Eaton in 1987 as a materials engineer at the Valinhos, Brazil, truck plant, assignedto quality, manufacturing and management roles within the truck transmission operations.
Since2013, he has had dualresponsibilities ofleading the electrical business in Latin America andcorporate president for South and Central America.He will report to Uday Yadav, chief operating officer for theindustrial sector, according to Eaton, which is based inDublin, Ireland.
“João’s deep knowledge of our vehicle businesses coupled with his broad Eaton experience in both hydraulics and electrical make him an ideal candidate to lead our team at a time when our industry is undergoing significant change,”Yadav said in a statement. “João’s international experience and knowledge of blended power will be a real asset as we position the Vehicle Group for an exciting future.”
