Detroit Diesel Cites EPA on Emissions Deadline
The company said DDC and some other manufacturers had asked the government for additional time because they were seeking more testing to ensure the commercial acceptability of the new lower emitting engines.
Detroit Diesel said it has begun the installation of new engine manufacturing facilities that will cost more than $136 million.
The Detroit-based company designs, manufactures, sells and services heavy-duty diesel and alternative fuel engines, automotive diesel engines and engine-related products.
