Crocs Inc. is investing $80 million to expand its current operations in Nevada to create a central e-commerce distribution and fulfillment hub to ship its shoes throughout the nation.
This venture was announced without fanfare by the Nevada Governor’s Office of Economic Development receiving $11.2 million worth of tax abatements. The financial incentives were granted to the companies for a pledge to add nearly 700 jobs paying about $43 per hour and invest a total of $144 million within the next five years.
“The seven companies that have been approved today for abatements will generate hundreds of high-paying jobs and millions in investment into Nevada,” Gov. Joe Lombardo stated Aug. 7. “These investments reflect our ongoing commitment to creating good-paying jobs for Nevadans and building a strong, diverse economy in our state.”
Crocs, headquartered in Broomfield, Colo., was awarded $4.6 million in tax abatements for its plans to create 70 jobs paying an average of $34 per hour within five years.
The company will make an $80 million capital equipment investment to expand its current facility in North Las Vegas within the first two years of operation and generate $20 million in new tax revenue over the next decade. The Crocs facility is located 20 minutes from Las Vegas in the 18,000-acre Apex Industrial Site along Interstate 15.

According to an Aug. 7 GOED board meeting document, Crocs’ plan to expand its Nevada facility “is a key element in Crocs’ supply chain optimization, supporting both the Heydude [brand], acquired in 2022, and the broader Crocs ecosystem. It consolidates distribution efforts and driving faster delivery, better inventory management, and economic efficiency. This massive, state-of-the-art fulfillment center will be Crocs’ key hub for shipping all Crocs products across the U.S. and open new channels of distribution to fulfill e-comm and retail.”
Since being founded over two decades ago, Crocs has sold 720 million pairs of shoes in more than 90 countries worldwide.
GOED stated that the expanded Crocs facility in Clark County “will serve as the company’s shipping hub for all Crocs products across the U.S.”
“We are proud of our existing footprint in Nevada and have found the state to be a highly supportive and strategic location for our business. Building on this success, we are planning a significant expansion,” said Tyler Baron, Crocs senior director of income tax.

Crocs held a grand opening ceremony in March 2024 to launch its Nevada shipping hub to increase distribution capacity for its Heydude brand of men’s and women’s lightweight shoes.
As of the end of last year, Crocs had 2.9 million square feet of company-operated warehouse and distribution facilities as well as nearly 1 million square feet of third-party operated distribution facilities, according to the , published in April.
Besides the Nevada Heydude brand distribution center, Crocs last year had company-operated distribution centers in Dayton, Ohio (1.3 million square feet) and in the Netherlands (517,000 square feet) that both handled its Crocs brand, the annual report said.
Tax abatements are an important economic development tool Nevada uses to capture business ventures and encourage companies to invest in expanded operations there. The state and GOED provide standard tax abatements for sales and use tax, personal property and modified business taxes. In return, companies must meet investment and job creation thresholds and remain in business in Nevada for five years. In addition, ventures must earn more than 50% of revenue from outside Nevada.
