Congress Kills Exit Visa Law

| Staff ReporterTrucking, fearful that extensive checking of visas would slow traffic and add to the congestion at border crossings, has been trying for several years to kick the provision off the books. Legislation passed by the House on May 23 and the Senate on May 25 leaves visa and entry-exit requirements as they are now.
The legislation’s authors expect President Clinton to sign the measure.
