Today: Colorado's 6th District – Incumbent Republican Mike Coffman vs. Democratic challenger Andrew Romanoff.
Rep. Mike Coffman, the staunch conservative Republican seeking a fourth term as the congressman from Colorado’s 6th Congressional District, has opposed many Democratic policies, including the Obama administration’s highway funding proposals. While he has not indicated whether he would support tea party-backed efforts to significantly reduce federal aid to states for transportation projects, most observers expect him to do so. His opponent, former state Speaker Andrew Romanoff, said he would support most aspects of the administration’s transportation agenda. The Rothenberg Political Report, a nonpartisan national newsletter, rates the contest a toss-up that tilts Republican.
