Carriers Impose Detention Fees

Several trucking companies have said they will impose detention charges on shippers that tie up their trailers during the countdown to the millennium. Those charges could run $150 to $300 per trailer per day.

Most of the carriers are asking for 24-hour turnaround cycles on their trailers.
