Duane W. Acklie, who is wrapping up his year as ATA’s top industry official, met Aug. 22 at the White House with Lawrence B. Lindsey, director of the National Economic Council, and other council officials.
Acklie, who is chairman of Crete Carrier Corp, Lincoln, Neb., painted a picture of a stalled trucking industry and tried to make the case that policies that aid trucking are vital to the nation’s economic recovery.
