Pittsburgh Logistics Systems said Monday that its freight division has begun to offer truckload van service for general commodities, in addition to its flatbed service.

Truckload carrier Landstar System said Thursday its second-quarter net income rose to $29.7 million or 53 cents a share, from $29.5 million or 50 cents a year ago.
