Analysts are assessing Amazon's results, along with other retailers' earnings performances, to get insight into how shoppers are spending heading into the holiday season.

The Help Me Decide feature will appear at the top of a product detail page after shoppers have looked at several similar items. Those who tap the button will see a single product recommendation.

Amazon said it was conducting trials of the glasses with drivers in North America and planned to further refine the technology before any broader rollout.  

Called Amazon Grocery, the new offering includes dairy, fresh produce and meat, the company said Oct. 1. The new brand will be available online and at Amazon Fresh stores.

The company counts TPG, Amazon.com and General Electric among investors with 5% or greater stakes.

The exemption Zoox is seeking would allow the company to operate as many as 2,500 self-driving cars on U.S. roads.

Tests with Flytrex’s autonomous drone delivery system will begin in Uber Eats pilot markets by the end of the year.

Amazon also said it will lower the cost of its entry health care plan to $5 per week and $5 for co-pays, starting next year.

The souped-up Seller Assistant is designed to predict demand and manage inventory in a holiday shopping season clouded by the trade war.

The pilot, though modest — about 12 vehicles — places the GM vans among a fleet that includes vehicles built by Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis and Rivian.
