The Department of Defense has placed a multimillion-dollar order with Orbcomm Inc., a provider of machine-to-machine and Internet of Things solutions, and Savi, a big data and machine learning analytic solutions company, according to a press release.

Savi Technology named Jeffrey Friedman chief financial officer, citing his more than 30 years of financial management for public and private companies operating in the technology, telecommunications and software industries.
