Welborn Shuffles Management With Promotions
The move allows Rumsey to concentrate on acquisition and investor relations for both companies, duties that he had begun to address while head of Welborn. He helped create Welborn in 1989 with Miller Welborn, who is now the president of Boyd Brothers.
Under Rumsey’s leadership, Welborn revenues had grown to $30 million by the time it was acquired by Boyd Bros. in late 1997.
Rusty Whitfield will replace Rumsey as president at Welborn. He joined the company in 1994, rising to hold the position of vice president and chief operating officer.
