oronto-based transportation and logistics firm Vitran Corp. said late Tuesday it has closed its purchase of the assets of Sierra West Express a regional less-than-truckload carrier based in Nevada.

Vitran's purchase price was of $2.25 million in cash and a contingent $250,000 note, it said in a statement.

itran had first announced the deal in December.

In the twelve-month period ended Nov. 30, Sierra West Express had revenues of $16 million and earnings before interest and taxes of $1 million.

Vitran is ranked No. 58 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
