Two Truck Makers Rehire, Boost Production Levels

Heavy-duty truck makers Kenworth Trucks and Volvo Trucks North America said they have called back some laid-off workers to handle production increases to met rising demand for new heavy-duty trucks.

Volvo Trucks North America Inc. is increasing production at its New River Valley assembly plant in Dublin, Va., by 20% and re-hiring 140 laid-off employees.

Kenworth Truck Co. is adding a second shift at the company’s heavy-duty truck plant in Chillicothe, Ohio, and recalling 350 laid-off workers.
