TMC Membership Plan Moves Ahead
Dan Lang
| Staff ReporterDetails of the proposal were not available this week, but David Barefoot, senior vice president of ATA, said the proposal, which would amend the Wren strategic plan, addresses the concerns of many TMC members.
Under the strategic plan, an individual cannot participate in an ATA council unless his or her company is a member of ATA. Some 70% of the 1,080 persons who belong to TMC work for companies that are not ATA members. Many believe that their employers would rather lose the benefits of TMC than bear the cost of joining ATA. TMC has about 2,800 members in all, including associate members from industry suppliers.
